Situated on Mayre Hill, (Heights), over looking the “Stone Wall” at Fredericksburg,Virginia.
Before the Stone wall, Gen. Burnsides assault was crushed by units of Longstreet’s Division
including South Carolinians of Gen. Joseph Kershaw's Brigade ~ December 1862
