| Research room to open Saturdays: Starting Jan. 6, the research room at the S.C. Department of Archives & History will be open on Saturdays, 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The records room, heavily used by genealogists, has been closed on weekends since state cutbacks in April 2002. This year’s state budget restored the staff to provide some weekend hours. |
