REENACTORS ~
"We were treated better than we have been treated at any other local event.
The battlefield and surrounding landscape is beautiful, the best in the state.
The Cavalry units should love this battlefield!"
Lt. Col. Steve Riggs, Commander, Bachman's Artillery
"The entire site was wonderful. The works were awesome, like nothing I've ever seen before."
Pvt. Jason LeRoy, a re-enactor with Mc-Beth's Light Artillery.
"...a GREAT event, the BFC boys done good! It's going to be hard to top next year.
Earthworks were GREAT! Portolets and water buffalos were out of sight and even
the water coolers were camo'd in burlap bags. These guys did it right!"
Capt. John Jowers, Chief of Artillery, Palmetto Battalion
"This is one of the finest battle sites I've ever seen.
It offered us a lot as far as both our impressions and flexibility."
Col. Tom Grazioli of the Palmetto Battalion.
"Those of you who did not go to Columbia and attend the battle, missed a great time, considering this was a first time event."
"My hat's is off to the Wade Hampton Camp SCV for their efforts; the time they put into the site with bridges, fortifications, breastworks, fire wood was excellent. It was a great site, good food, plenty of water, help from the event staff, porta potties etc. and lots of fellowship between those in attendance."
"The only problem was the Artillery out numbered the Infantry; that made the battle's somewhat of a problem to get the best balance of the Troops. This would be a great event to close out the spring calendar and I hope more Infantry people decide to attend the event next year."
H.G. Clapper, 23rd SC Infantry
